50th Anniversary

Supported by the Irish Concrete Society

Building on Concrete Foundations: the Irish Perspective

Venue: Davenport Hotel, Dublin, Ireland
Date: 7th October 2022
Time: 10.00 to 14.00

Programme

The year 2022 is significant for the ICT because it will be 50 years old. By any standards this is an achievement and will be celebrated, socially and technically, by the ICT, its members, and the concrete industry that it represents.

Over the last 50 years the Institute has staunchly supported education in concrete technology resulting in respected qualifications, professionalism, training, and the provision of relevant information relating to all things concrete. It has, and still does provide qualified professionals at all levels.

The last 50 years have seen many changes for concrete as a material and for the industry whether you are a provider or a user. The ICT has remained at the forefront of these changes and contributed significantly to responsible adoption and where relevant to adaption.

As part of the celebration in Ireland, a special one-day symposium will be hosted by the Irish Concrete Society on Friday 7th October. This event will be an excellent opportunity to learn and socialise in an atmosphere of celebration.

The programme for this anniversary symposium comprises a keynote address by Tony Binns on education in concrete technology, followed by eight presentations by representatives of academia and industry, including cement, admixtures, ready-mixed concrete, precast, repair and consultancy.
